This 2.5km trail is located in the Town of Montague and can be accessed via SEA’s Pollinator Park. The trail runs along the Montague and Valleyfield Rivers which are included in the Three Rivers – Canadian Heritage Rivers network and became designated in 2004. It is ideal for hikers who enjoy an easy to moderate difficulty rating. The majority of the trail is flat and hikers will enjoy the diverse habitat that surrounds them. Passing through stands of hardwoods and softwoods, hikers will have an opportunity to see a wide array of wildlife. Ferns, mosses and wildflowers, such as trillium and Provincial Lady’s Slipper, also cover the forest floor. At the center point of the trail, there is the option of descending to a rest area on the beach for a view of the confluence of the two rivers. At the south end of the trail, near Sullivan’s Pond, hikers will have to descend a moderately steep hill. Parking is available at the Cavendish Wellness Center, 21 Sullivan Drive.
