Klondyke Road

Driving through the hills of the Klondyke Road gives visitors the opportunity to be surrounded by borders of sugar maple, birch and spruce. This 4.9km Heritage road is located in Iona and travels in an east to west direction from the Selkirk Road to Murray Harbour Road. In the early 1900s, sawmills and several homesteads were located along this stretch. In the 1920s and 30s, rumrunners would steal along the road and tie rags to the trees to indicate where their goods were hidden.
